Before Surgery

Your surgeon’s office has scheduled your surgery based on your procedure and needs. A member of our trained nursing staff will contact you before your surgery to confirm the date and time, and give final preoperative instructions. The anesthesiologist may also contact you. If you have any questions, you may reach us at (503) 612-8452.

Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery unless you are otherwise instructed.

You will be advised if you should continue any routine medications, including those to treat heart, asthma, diabetes or blood pressure conditions, before surgery. If you use an inhaler, please bring it with you.

Bathe or shower the morning of surgery or the night before. Wear loose-fitting clothes, keeping in mind any dressings or support devices you may be required to wear after surgery.

Transportation

Please arrive on time, and make arrangements for a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you for the first 24 hours after surgery. You are not permitted to leave alone after receiving anesthesia. Transportation via taxi is not recommended. We ask that the person responsible for taking you home remain at the facility while your surgery is taking place.

Financial Information

A staff member from our business office may call before your surgery to explain your insurance benefits. You may be required to make a full or partial payment at time of admission. We accept personal checks, cash and most major credit cards.

Please note you will receive three bills for your surgery:

  • Oregon Outpatient Surgery (facility)
